CCL drilled the first hole at Fire Lake in 2006, when the mine reopened. Initially, the contract involved the execution of all types of drilling, such as production drilling, pre-cuts, boulders, redrills and blasting. The CCL team worked closely with the engineering team to follow their progress plan. The mandate evolved over the years as ArcelorMittal acquired their own drilling machine. CCL has always been there to support operations (water truck, diesel truck, etc.), for secondary drilling (Pre-cuts, bolders, redrillls, etc.) as well as for blasting.
